This is a piece of cake...Not!

I was often irritated when people asked me "So what do u think of eastern and western cultures"

Another one of those questions again.

I don't think people understand when I say "Culture is a subjective terms"

I answered my friend the same way I answered everyone else.

"Take in the good, leave the "bad" cultures behind"

By “bad” it means the ones that’s out of your beliefs & upbringing.

Then the whole Q & A started.

I stopped him and say "Here's the thing, if in the west they kick their son/daughter out of the house at 18. Definitely family bond is strained but these kids can fend for themselves better don't you think? They became very independent at early age but you know to each person the experience is different la kan"

Sometimes we get so caught up with the idea that our culture is better than the other that it makes us forget what our point of comparing is. Is it to feel good or superior than the other or just simply to separate the two ideologies?

However after years of debating on these issues, I came to the idea that I should just nod my head in approval with whatever they think is right.

Life is all about labels’. I just wonder when will those labels expires. I come to terms that it will never have an expiry date.

To sum it all up, sometimes the grass is greener on the other side. When you have been to that other side of the fence, you still come home to a home cook food.
