Believe

"So do not become weak (against your enemy), nor be sad, and you will be
superior (in victory) if you are indeed a (true) believer"

3:139

Charity, Anger & Pardon

"Those who spend (freely) whether in prosperity, or in adversity; who restrain anger, and pardon (all) men- For Allah loves those who do good"

Al Imran ayah 135

It talks about charity that comes in many forms. Does not just mean through money spent, prayers in it is a form of charity.

It was said in a hadith that the strength of a men is measured by his ability to restrain anger; I forgot which hadith quoted that. Will definitely go home and try to recall.

There are times in our life that we couldn’t let go off that anger that haunts us about someone. We have to come to terms with it, forgive ourselves and others. Get rid off ill feelings so that we could live life of contentment. Better still, do it for His blessing

Story of Angels and Prophet S.A.W

Some angels came to see Prophet S.A.W while he’s asleep.

Some of them said “He’s sleeping”

Some said “His eyes is sleeping but his heart is awake”

So the angel went on saying “There is an example of this companion of yours”

“His example is that of a man who has built a house then offered therein a banquet and sent an inviter to invite the people. Those who accepted the invitation of the inviter entered the house and ate the banquet, those who did not, did not enter the house nor did they eat the banquet”

Then the angles translate it to make Prophet understand better.

“The house stands for Paradise and the Call Maker is Muhammad S.A.W and whoever obeys Muhammad S.A.W obeys Allah S.W.T and whoever disobey Muhammad S.A.W disobey Allah S.W.T. Muhammad S.A.W separated the people”

Narrated by Jabir Bin Abdullah, Sahih Al Bukhari 9/7281

I just thought the way it is presented is just great metaphor.

32 & the weekend

I was asked the other day on how many shoes I own. I manage to take them all out and it is 32 pairs. At least I manage to give one pair to a family friend. So that's ok kan?

Then today I went to test my baseball skill at 1utama batting cages. It was awesome. We were hitting about more than 30 balls. I got teased a lot but hey 5 misses out of 20, that's pretty something ain't it?

Am at my cousin's place. Omar Ameer Ariff's B'day today. Went to buy his gift earlier. Got a huge kiss from him , such a lovely boy. Here's Omar Ameer Ariff

They've got a brand new karaoke machine at home. Pretty cool. Speaking of which, they are calling me right now to get my grove on.

Will leave you with my favorite song for now, it's james morisson Love is Hard. Later!

Things I will never understand

Below are the lists of things I don’t understand

1.Claiming the good deeds

If you do something good, please do not wait for credit or anything in return. Orang tak suruh buat tapi dah nak buat , macam mana kan?

Then when situation gets tough, please do not claim your good deeds. Better still, if it’s recognition that you want, plese do not proceed with them good deeds.

Why claim for something that you want to do voluntarily?

2.There’s life outside of you

Ever met someone that talk or write so much about oneself? Don’t you want tell them that life is not just made up of “the one and only him/her?” While you are too self consumed of yourself, let me attend to others first ok?

3.Holding on

Not letting go of your past is another thing I hardly understand. So, you are friends but do you always have to keep in touch? Jeez!!

Some say letting go of their past is rejecting those you love..

Guess what honey? Breaking up by itself is a solid form of rejection

4.Adding those to fulfill your curiosity.
I have 100 over friend’s request. I hardly go through them. One time I did, saw one request, called up a mutual friend asking what’s up.

Added the person and deleted to see if I know him/her. Got through scolding and the only part I regret doing is apologizing for things that are not of my own doing.

You see I scratch my head only if it itches, I dance only when I hear music. So keep your friends close and if they are curious, perhaps you should talk them through it. I usually mind my own business.

So yeah above all, these are the things I never understand. I think it has a lot to do with maturity. Til then, have a good holiday.

My 4 Elements of Contentment

I have so many things to blog about but first let me blog about something close to my heart…

I’m going to talk about the 4 elements..Or maybe just 2 if I am too lazy

Nope it’s not earth,wind,water and fire…

It’s Shoes, Pants, Handbags and Accessories..

Yes, the elements any girls would want to have…

Let’s start with something close to my heart, something that hits me right to my money sense. Something that by looking at it, I knew I would fall in love..

It is Ladies and Gentlemen..

Shoes

I have 1 big closet of shoes, yes I do. I am very particular about which shoe goes with which clothing article. However in the midst of those free flows of shoes, you can never spot a sandal.

I know, if it’s not one inch high or more, I wouldn’t call it shoes…

Ask anyone of my colleague they would say I would go “khuysuk” looking at someone shoes.

My boss is cruel cuz she has plenty of shoes I like. One of the distinctive tastes we both share. I could even spot her envious eyes when I walk in with a new pair of shoes. Better still, now, she’s copying my style of shoes. Hah!! Guilty as charged!

I saw and I could recall immediately where she bought them. Hah!! Guilty as charged again!
Actually I was thinking getting the same pair but in a bolder color. Red… yes you heard me right, Red.

The thing about shoes is, if given the right one, it’ll make you legs look slender. Trust me, only certain shoes make you stand tall.

It also looks at the body type you have. If you are a “healthy” and “petite” please don’t opt for sandals. It doesn’t do u justice. Not at all. Perhaps opt for an open toe high heels with 1 ½ inch as the highest.

Ok cut to the chase, you want advice? Hire me, I don’t charge high, the least you could do is get me a spa holiday and I’ll be content.

Then there are Pants, the one thing besides IQ that separates us human from well, baboons.

Yes, I get a lot of compliments when it comes to choosing the right pair of jeans and work pants. I am fussy as hell and no, I hate skinny fit. Some looks nice but most looks.. like “a belalang”. Don’t ask me, I just don’t know how I come up to that conclusion.

The thing about pants is, you got to make 3 things look amazing. The “irrisistable view” I call it.
The calves, the thighs and yes, those trunks your hiding
.
Let’s talk about calves, you may not have the most tone calves but if there is anything I learn about pants it is the second greatest art of deception.
First being make up.

I am just 5 feet tall but given the right heels , pants and dashing confident I stand taller than 5feet.

Yes, I am not shy to acknowledge it either.

So you may want to wear something that’s not too tight on your calves and not too loose. A boot cut is not flattering if it’s not waist high. I would call them the “editor’s pants”. Boot cut is amazing if they are high waist and tucked in with a cuff-like shirt.

Can’t imagine? Hire me, I’ll do up your pants good and make ‘em junks in the trunk look good.

Then there’s thighs, do not underestimate the power of a pants that makes your thighs look good. But again, a good thigh is a result of a good work out.

Want to know which work out do them calves, thighs and trunks look good? Hire me, I make your lower body one of the seven wonders of the world.

So yes, I manage to talk about the 2 elements that make my life content. My resume would for style is well…. kickin’ off. So would you help me out building my customer portfolio?

If you don’t have money, I would opt for spa holidays, fine dining, shopping voucher of RM1000 per day in The gardens/ Pavillion. See I charge very low consultation fee. Doesn’t get any better than that?

Why am I blogging about it this time?

I caved in

A week ago I bought THIS….

I told myself no more.. no more

Then I bought… THESE

The bag looks better in real life.

Damn it! Hire me already so that I could revel on other people’s triumph of buying and just by looking…. I think.. I THINK! I would be content… So anyone?

Prayer of a Shopaholic

Dear God,
Grant me the serenity of not entering places like Tony Romas, Delicious and its decedents. My stomach is too humble for such heavenly food.

Dear God,
Grant me the protection from the temptations of Isetan. Forgive me as I am even a member of such group. Forgive my sins when I even took out my membership card at Robinson’s outlet. I have offended the Robinson’s employee.

Dear God,
Thank you for making me resists the lure of buying 5 pairs of shoes. I only bought one as I enter the heavenly kingdom of Charles & Keith. I couldn’t imagine a place overflowing with beautiful shoes at a 7th heaven’s price.

Dear God,
These days I have succumb to the calling of Rock Corner. Joss Stone whisper her soulful rhythm and blues in my ears last week. That sound “Free Me Up” is such a sinful melody. This week I got better by buying Maxwell, at least the chap talks about Pretty Wings. Such an angelic voice that you have bestowed on him.

Dear God,
Thanks for giving me a best friend by the name of Laura Mercier. She is expansive than my fellow Mac. However, she covers my eyes from the evils of bad cover up which I shall not mention here. I only had to buy her twice a year.

Dear God,
I admit, last night I succumb to the lurking of Isetan, to the beautiful creation of Charles & Keith, the angelic sound of Maxwell and the coverings of Laura Mercier. Next time, I hope you bless me with an angel who would knock me with his/her halo whenever I have horns coming out of my head at the sight of those many temptations.

Sincerely,
The Sinful Shopper

The story that gets me everytime!

I am half way to reading Surah Ali Imran.
Such a beautiful surah. I want to blog about the story of Imran, Hannah, Prophet Zakarriya and Maryam. However it is a long story.

In between I read the story of Heraclius and Abu Sufyan as narrated by Abu Hurrairah. Love that story so much. The Q & A session between Heraclius and Abu Sufyan was just amazing. It gets to me every time. I’ve read the story 3 times and never get bored at how intelligent both men were. However it did not state if Heraclius converted to Islam in the end.

Love the letter from Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. to Heraclius too. Every time I read it I thought MasyaAllah amazing! I need to memorize the Q&A session since it makes up such a great story.

Then I read a few stories before heading to bed from the Quran translation.

Love this Quote of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W as Narrated by Aishah:

“Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately, and receive good news because one's good deeds will not make him enter Paradise” They asked “Even You O Allah’s Messenger?”. He said “Even I, unless and until Allah Protects and Covers me from His Pardon and Mercy” Sahih Al Bukhari.

Something about that line- Calming, Humble, Beautiful.

What a humble and great leader He was, our Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.

Politician vs Diplomat

In HQ

Talking to M and new boss approached.

Boss: So Lyana, how’s ur branch doing?

Lyana: Good.. but you know holiday season things are a tad bit slow.

Boss: How’s the staff there?

Lyana: Good actually some are mobile on certain days but always a person to man the fort.

Boss: You ni politician la Lyana.

Lyana: Eh tak la, politician is all about self interest. I take care of both sides without taking any interest. Diplomat kut

Boss: LOL Smart! Tu la pasal dia boleh jadi host kita eh Mary.

Chatting

BraTT: woi Britney, aku dgr cite bagus, before that kena belanja

Lyana: Cheh BraTT, pagi2 dah mintak belanja.

BraTT: Cite hangat ni pasal you.

Lyana: Ok ok aku belanje..

*Secrets told*

BraTT: Kau ni politician betul la..

Lyana: Mana ada, diplomat la ooi!

You see the way I see it, a politician is One who shakes your hand before elections and your Confidence Later.

A diplomat is a person who tells you to go to hell in such a way that you actually look forward to the trip.

At least, a diplomat is nice enough to motivate you to look forward to something!

Hmmm.. but we all could agree that I am no states man. Can’t risk my Coach bag for heaven’s sake!
