From your coolest aunt ;)

I can’t wait to be an aunt

Don’t panic, my sister is NOT pregnant!
But my best friend is and I am super excited.

It’s a different feeling actually. When you are an aunt because your cousin gave birth, you just realized “Damn! I am old!!!!”

When you best friend is pregnant, you get excited, you realized “I want to be that hot aunt!” and I even told Mira that.

I want to be the aunt that taught her baby what “mama and papa don’t teach”.
I want to be that aunt that said “C’mon kiddo, don’t stay within line of right and wrong. The world is your oyster, swim the sea of possibilities. It’s fun!”

All because I know Mama and Papa is looking out for you.
All because Mama and Papa wants you safe.
All because Mama and Papa wants to protect you.

I have no doubt that Mama and Papa will provide you with the greatest TLC.

I also know that Mama and Papa will scold you if you climb that “pagar” that could make you fall.

I also know that Mama and Papa will “pukul you sikit” if you don’t listen because they have the “reward & punish scheme”

I also know that Mama and Papa will find it hard when you talk on the phone for so long, obsessed over hot guys/girls and finally dated that girl/guy that they think “you deserve better”

All because they want to protect you from that fall, from that mistakes, from that heartaches.

That’s where you will have your aunt to turn to. Of course I will call your mom up and ask what’s up and ask her “what you want me to do with this budak nakal”

But other than being your aunt, I want to be your friend too.

I want to take you to concerts, to that rollercoaster rides, to that ‘secret’ date that mama and papa don’t know (Mira don’t worry I’ll bring him/her back on time and I will tell you who is that girl/guy your kid is out with) and I also want to be that aunt that say “Okay kiddo, what do you wanna do next”

For you kiddo, I won’t say “don’t make mistakes” I will say “Make them but sooner” because you will have time to undo the mistakes later and InsyaAllah you will have your mama, papa and your aunt to be your motivator.

You know from whom I learned this from? From my Parents (don’t worry you will meet them when you are old enough to remember their name)

My parents are not just a parental figure; my parents are my best friend. My dad knows I will make mistakes, he let me but with a warning that I might get burn. When I get burned, he throw in salt to a fresh wound but there’s my mom who removed it fast with water, tissues and a calamine lotion. After the pain subsides there’s my dad who will sit down and apologized for throwing in salt on a fresh wound. He will hug me and say “I will always be there for you. You will always be daddy’s little girl”

I have no doubt that you will have the best upbringing all because you have a great Mama and Papa. The ones that will let you learn through experience but will stand by with a first aid kit when you are wounded.

Me? Your aunt, I am just here to see your adventurous journey and I will help you with your wildest and widest dreams. I will also “Pulas” your ears when your wildest dreams get too much to my “weary” ears.

I don’t know how you will look like and who will you be. All I know is I am excited for your arrival because I know you will be welcomed into a great family and a sea of possibilities. Enjoy that warm place for now little one, you have another 5 months (5 months kan mira?) before your journey begins ;)
